Prague center

Those of you who follow me on my personal Facebook profile or on my YouTube account probably noticed I have been posting salsa photos and videos the whole day. And I still be the whole weekend. So I’m crazy busy (and tired) with shooting at a Salsa Congress in Bratislava. But of course as each day, here is a new photo for you. Good thing that I have few prepared, so I have one for days when I don’t have the time to edit.

This is a manually blended panorama from 3 shots, each one from 5 exposures. If you want to see how I combine the shots into a panorama, check out this tutorial. Photo taken from the top of the Petrin tower in Prague.

After the rain in Prague

posted in Czech republic, HDR, Panorama, Photography, Prague on by with No Comments

As usually when I’m in Prague, at least one day it has to be raining. But I tend to take my camera with me to the city, even if it raining. You never know. And it was same that evening. After about two hours of a quite heavy rain (which I spend in a pub with friends :)) I could go out and take some shots. The light is different after a rain. Some of the best sunsets can be seen right after it. This was a little later, so I got a more yellowish night shot, but I still like it.

This is a 2 shot panorama, each shot blended from 5 exposures, taken by the Manes Bridge in Prague.

Panorama from London

This is my favorite photo I took while I was in London. Despite the ugly weather, for a moment the light was right and I took the shots for this panorama. And as you probably noticed, it’s also the photo I currently use for the header of this blog :)

This is a three shots panorama, all shots blended from 5 exposures. Taken from the Tower Bridge in London.

Zoomable Panoramas

Panoramas give you such a unique view but they also loose a lot of what you see, when you just see them in a small resolution. And as my photos are a lot about details, anything above 30Mpix just can be nicely seen in a resolution destined for web. So for those photos, I include a zoomable version, were you can see much more of the photos. I have moved all of them onto one page, which you can find here or through the menu on the right.

Prague

I wanted to do a panorama from the Petrin tower for a longer time, but never got to it. The view is just stunning, as you can see the the whole city. But as always when I was there before, it was completely full of people, I was a little scared if I will be able to use a tripod. But here is where the ugly weather worked in my favor. As the day was quite ugly and only got better around sunrise, the tower was mostly empty and I could shoot as much as I wanted. It shakes a little and having the lens stable at 200mm was not so easy, but a lot of photos worked out. As this is also a big panorama, you can find a zoomable version under Panoramas or directly here. I suggest checking it out :)

Moon

Since in the photo I posted yesterday, the moon wasn’t that visible, here is a more detailed shot of it :)

This is a panorama from two photos, taken with Canon 7D on a Celestron telescope. Had to do a panorama, because the moon is too big for a crop sensor (on that telescope that is), but this year I will have to try to take a shot with the 5D, where the moon should fit into one photo.
